You will feel some difference for sure, but not that much,
one semi tone isn't big deal except it's easier to do bends, vibrato etc.
Whole tone is something else. smile.gif

I played with a flat tune and yeah, when I return to standard tune it was a bit hard to play, so I decided to change strings (I had 10-46) for a 8-39 biggrin.gif love the extrem bends that you can do with this strings. BTW If didn't need to play with the orchestra I will use a dropped tune tongue.gif

I find it easier to play too, using lighter strings wink.gif

After a while, you wont feel much of a difference smile.gif

I normally keep one guitar tuned normal with a 0.09 set of strings, and one tuned to a D or D flat with some heavier strings.. I prefer the light strings, but they sound all floppy when downtuning smile.gif

I am using that tuning since almost 20 years, the only thing you should pay attention to is your strings, don't use too thin strings when you downtune your guitar, otherwise they will get way too sloppy.

I still use 9-46 when I tune to Eb. But I've heard that when you use too light a string the pitch doesn't really translate on a big stage at loud volumes, I guess Marcus would know. biggrin.gif

For me it is just very difficult to play with such thin strings, I pick rather hard, specially when we play live, so I would constantly be out of tune I guess unsure.gif My strings are 010 - 052, perfect for me
