A Small Beginner Problem, Tapping problem

hi

I am new to the guitar and I have noticed that my guitar dont make enough sound when I tap it. I was going to learn a beginner tapping lesson and the instructor got loud and nice sounds from his tapping, it was like exactly as if he would have strummed the note. Now my guitar only makes a small noise that then fades away very quickly when I tap it, to make as loud sounds as the instructor I would have to tap very very hard. ohmy.gif
