Hello everyone. I never intended to get involved in discussions, but this site and the teachings are great so I want to get more involved. I will be 53 on Tuesday. I bought my son his first guitar when he was 6. I always enjoyed listening to him play and assumed that I had no talent and never tried to learn. My dream for him was to play as good as Randy Rhoads or Michael Schenker. He made it, but he passed away at the young age of 22 which was before he could get his music out to everyone. His guitars, amps and equipment sat for more than 2 years and then one day I picked up the guitar and started to make some noise with it. I worked my way through the pains in my fingers and then tried to get them to move independently. Happy to say it has started to sound like music and I enjoy playing. I play for hours everyday. Once I finally signed up with the school I have improved so much even I am surprised. It is fun to play and well worth the little investment. Just as an aside, I am a retired US Marine. I am originally from Wisconsin, but my wife and children and I live on a small Japanese Island called Okinawa. Nice to meet you all. Currently Amon Amarth, Kataklysm and Entwine are my favorite bands

I believe from what I have noticed is that you would be the right instructor to ask about Naglfar and Hypocrisy. There are two songs that have always made me happy. Enslave the Astral Fortress by Naglfar and Roswell 47 by Hypocrisy. I read through the comments and see when people have listened to something for the first time and to be honest I am surprised that so many people have missed out on so many good bands. I know it is impossible to listen to everyone, but these two were the songs that made it possible to get past the Death Metal voice and listen to the music. I know others will like it just like those who made great comments about your Kyuss music. Thanks for that by the way. I have always liked Kyuss from the first day I heard it at a CD listening cafe in S. CA. As a matter of fact I wouldn't even give the Queens of The Stone Age a chance just because I liked Kyuss so much. Anyway if you could or would do those two songs I know people will enjoy them. Thanks, and I know I will be trying to learn them as soon as I see them posted.
