Just to let you know David, I'm working on a bunch of your lessons right now... Satch Style Lydian Scale, Satriani Melodic Rock, Mixolydian Fun, You Shall Start Like You End, and Take Control of Your Whammy. You're an inspiration, and your playing is phenomenal. Take a nice long break, as long as it takes, but when you come back, you'll be better than ever and ready to KICK SOME SERIOUS ROCK!!! biggrin.gif smile.gif

Jim.

Completely natural David as others have said. We all burn out on things in life and need a break. Think if you were a construction worker or worked in a factory, burned out or not, you still would have to go to work to pay the bills.

You are a true class my friend and a great musician and I wish you well in your ventures. Do keep in mind that it is times like these when we are burnt, feel beaten down, that we rise above and perform at our best.

I'm confident that in a week or so you you will be full throttle! smile.gif

Cheers man,
Steve

Thanks a lot for the responses guys!
I canceled all my students next week, should be a nice break.
Sometimes sanity is better than getting a paycheck I think! :-)

Hope you come back relaxed and perhaps even inspired. What I do sometimes with a reaserch project is to put it aside for a while (if that is logistically possible). If you come back to it after a while you see it totally different and go for it with new drive. So distance sometimes is a inspiration

Sorry to hear this David! sad.gif

You are an hard working person and you definitely deserve a break...no doubt about it! I am sure your students prefer to wait one week to get a sharp instructor instead of a tired one.

I would give some advice, but I am a single man living alone with 8 cats and a dog, with the grass in my front yard high enough for the cats to hide in. I am not the first person people generally come to for advice.

Sorry to hear this David.

Your personal health is much more important than a lesson, although i like your lessons very much, but you know what i am trying to say.

You have been pretty productive; looking at all what you have done.

But don't take a burn out too easy; it is a serious.

Go for a medic who has experience with this to give you the best advice you need in this situation.

I hope you will recover soon.

God Bless

Take your time to relax and enjoy this week! Probably live students delivers most "tiresome" experiences.

I burned out on the guitar once. I didn't do as you did, I just kept on going. I refused to take a break until it wasn't fun anymore. THEN I put the guitar away for a long time. Its back now, but if I could have done it over, I would have taken a break when I first recognized the symptoms.

Take a break. Do it now or later may be too late.

And on another note, I just clicked the wrong button on one of your lessons. Still trying to get this new interface under control.
It was a button to rate a lesson.... Yeah, ignore the none vote on that one. Thats not what I meant to click.
Your lessons have always been excellent on all fronts. This new interface isn't, but your lessons are smile.gif

Hang in there buddy. We'll be here when you decide to return smile.gif

Haha!
That little burnout happened about 6 months ago guys.
Only lasted about a week. I was just teaching too much, but all is good now! :-)
