Melodic Hard Rock Soloing in A Minor, Lesson By Jonathan Burgos |
|
Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.
The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: Melodic Hard Rock Soloing in A Minor by Jonathan Burgos
This is my first take. I am actually working on my string bending and vibrato technique, so i put some additional bendings into this one. Thank you for any comments! Jan |

Hi Offa! Nice take! As Cosmin said, it's a good take but we can notice the two techniques that you have to work now: Vibrato and Bending. We have really helpful lessons here at GMC so just check these links and start working!

Very nice take! My advise would be to focus on dynamics and vibrato. Try picking the notes harder and with more power. You can notice how Jonathan varies his attack on the strings to get different feeling, vibe and dynamics. This is very important step in making the solo stand out. On the intro legato run - try to get good separation between the notes by hammering down stronger with the left hand.
I think your bending technique is on the right path. Try working on vibrato as it always goes hand in hand with the bending technique. It will make the longer notes sing and be expressive. Vibrato really makes a huge difference when performing leads. Here is a good lesson series on Vibrato technique : https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/lessonser...ibrato-Odyssey/ -------------------- For GMC support please email support (at) guitarmasterclass.net
