Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hey Gary, this is good stuff ! The only thing I picked up on was that you played the slides at 0:12 and 0:20 a bit too fast. They want to have the accent of 3 separate notes, just like it sounds in the opening phrase. So all you would have to do is just let the first note sound a bit longer before sliding it up a whole tone then playing the 3rd note after that. Hopefully I make some sense ? If you listen to Bear's version again you'll know what I mean. You were playing them more in the manner of those descending slides that followed (which were great by the way !)

All the other slides are brilliant though, so well done ! smile.gif

Hi Bllister! It's great to see you working hard! There are some things to fix on this take but you are on the right track. The first thing that comes to my mind when the take starts is that your guitar is not perfectly tuned. Always check that before you start a take. Then, regarding your playing I note that the transition between notes should be smoother. You have to let a note ring until the next one sounds. There are also some slides in the original video that you don't play and the same with some notes that should be played with legate (check at 00:25). The hammer-ons starting at 00:31 should sound better and tighter (the higher note is played before the beat), try to play the notes louder and paying attention to the timing. That's all that I have to comment! I hope that this helps. Keep on working hard! wink.gif

Hey Gary! Congrats on your first REC take smile.gif Hard work will make things better and better mate wink.gif There's nothing else I would add aside from what the guys said, so keep on working. But always be focused and attentive to details, as these are always the main issues for all of us!
