I have noticed that some instructors are adding in the video description, their pod or Pandora settings to get the tone they used for the lesson. Such as Piotr - http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/blue-christmas-song/ And Jerry - http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/solo-guitar/chuck-berry-style-lesson/

This is unbelievably helpful for getting the proper tone. It would be great if every lesson had these settings for the equipment that was used!

I agree, it is very helpful indeed! I did some Toneport/Gearbox settings for recording, and if someone has any specific questions for the tone, he can ask it on my board no problems. I will continue to post such settings. I hope Toneport users will find them useful.

Ivan, that would be absolutely AWESOME if you posted your tones to download on your board after each lesson!!!

Well sure guys, it would be my pleasure to post them. Lot of people are asking me about these presets and I'm giving them all the time. So if anyone really needs a preset, he can PM me, I will gladly send any preset he wants!

I never use the same effects in my lessons so I don't include the settings. I tried pluging different guitar on my previousely stored settings and it has nothing to do with that sound anymore. Completely different tone color. Only if you really have the same equipment as the instructor then you can expect some good results.

I agree with Emir on this topic. The settings will give you a start, but if you are playing through Duncan Designed p/up's and the Instructor's p/up's cost more than your guitar, it's not going to happen.

If you want to emulate the tone, use your ear, it really is a good way to get used to how different effects work. There have been times, and still are that it takes me more time on my tone than learning the lesson.

Tone is a lesson in itself and I think I will always be searching for it no matter the style. Just my opinion of course.

Tone is half the battle. If you don't have a good voice no one will listen.

For everything I upload I spend at least half the time on a sound that will fit in the mix.
