After reading thefireball's recent post, Cosmin made a comment:

"And the touch ... You only get that from your hands. Regardless of what gear you have - I think this is a major plus in your overall skill as a musician/ guitarist! "

Then I was watching Steve Lukather (I'm a huge Lukather fan smile.gif ) on Youtube & found this. At 1:47 Steve makes this quote:

"Everybody's touch & tone is very unique, I mean, the same guy can play the same guitar through the same amp & play the same lick & it would not sound the same."

and

"The guitar is a very very expressive instrument."

Yep. Guitarists have been saying it for decades and will continue to do so (well, hopefully.. if real instruments exist decades from now !!)

Down to things like how much pressure you put on the string, the shape of your finger.. how your muscles/nerves react to perform the tasks will never be exactly the same as somebody else. It's incredibly interesting smile.gif

This is a very inspiring video! Can't agree more with that quote by Lukather. It would be cool if famous guitar players decide to do the experiment to play the same thing, with the same guitar and amp to let everybody compare the results. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, this is very cool about the guitar. I am finding my own style more and more. Yes, I pull ideas from others, but to find one's own style and play it well in their own unique way is a beautiful thing.
