Car Insurance In California

Hi GMC.

In two weeks, I'm going to the USA, hopefully on a road trip cross country. However, I had not realised that in order to buy insurance for a car, you must be 21. Same goes for most rentals. Now, both my friend and I are 20, turning 21 a couple of months after we come home again, but it's proved hard to find any concrete information on this subject.
So I'm hoping that someone here can help me out, it's really frustrating, and I loathe myself for not looking it up before I bought the plane ticket... sad.gif

Almost forgot, we land in San Francisco, and were planning to buy the car there.
