Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: Millencolin Style by Gabriel Leopardi

Hi. That's my first take for this great lesson. I know it needs more practicing in order to make it flawless, but I think it's good to send an early version so others can quickly identify playing issues it may present. Thanks Gabriel!

Hi Ken!! Nice to find this take on my lesson here! You are doing a good job with this one. smile.gif

The only things to fix on this one is your timing, mostly on the verse's palm muting section and the melody played in the second verse. Then, that first chord played when the chorus starts. Also I think that you should put your guitar louder in the mix and add more treble to your tone to make is sound closer to the backing track's guitars.

That's all, keep on the good job! wink.gif

Hi, this was a very good attempt - it was good to listen to.

My observations are;

The opening chords need to be muted / cut off when you're not playing them. Listen to Gabriel do it again and you'll hear. Just use your right hand to briefly rest against the strings. Your picking technique means that your hand stay constantly away from the strings so don't forget that you can move it back just for the purposes of muting and things like that.

Also, reducing the finger pressure so that your fingers slightly lift off from the chord shapes will also silence them.

Your missing the minor 3rd note in that Dm shape at 1:49 and on the second time around.

Apart from those things, it sounds great to me !

Hey mate! I think Gabe and Ben said it all, so I will just add the fact that the more careful you are with the details and the more you listen to the takes you record before posting here, you will be able to discern your weak points and work on them at a slow tempo. Isolate the passages which are troublesome and work on them separately until you can play the complete piece without mistakes smile.gif

Keep rocking!

Cosmin

Most of issues were pointed by guys above. I can only add I have a feeling like Your right hand is very tensed - it's visible especially at the beginning. The tone is very nice and overall image of the lesson makes Your job well done smile.gif Congrats smile.gif
