Video games can have some cool sound tracks!

What is your favorite one?

Mine would be the sound track from the game Grim Fandango :

This song was my favorite one :

There was a game called "Battle Arena Toshinden" back in the 90s, it came on the Sony Playstation one laugh.gif I still have the sound tracks of the original and the second part of the games smile.gif

My favorite character was the protagonist, Eiji Shinjo. I always wanted to play both of his themes from part 1 and 2, but I only got to play the first one tongue.gif biggrin.gif the second one is too hard for me, not to mention, I had to make out both of those themes by ear and it took a while smile.gif

This one is from part 1:

And this one is from part 2:

Its amazing how good video game music was then, now its all crap sad.gif

With you there man.

It's funny how you get so used to hearing some songs in a game. For instance, I used to play Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 when I was much younger, and you'd play in the 'Free Skate' mode. The timer was always 2 minutes, and would start beeping at the 10 second mark. For that reason, every time I hear any song from that game, I know exactly where the 2 minute mark of the song is! biggrin.gif

Sometimes girls can play games smile.gif Even if my preferred game is "Heroes 3" , my favorite soundtrack for game is from Call of Duty:
(I do not understand why didn't show the preview, but I guess I'm not doing something right). So, here is the link smile.gif

I love video game music! smile.gif My favorite soundtracks are probably from Heroes 3 and Castlevania : Symphony of the Night.

I also like music from older games from NES, like Megaman and Castlevania series. I think I'm going to do an arrangement of Megaman music in the near future.

This, you beat me to it. Such a beautiful soundtrack that saddens me every time I hear it. Loved the story of it as well.

I love Contra I used to play it a lot with my brother on the Pegasus !
Castlevania series' music is awesome, and it blew my mind up when i learned that the composer was a she tongue.gif
I would also add Street fighter II (btw the composer is a girl too), Turtles in Time IV on SNES and my RPG crush when I was a kid FF7.

A game I recently discovered (during the Steam sales): Hotline Miami. It's some weird 80ies electronic music, but it's awesome.

Plus the soundtrack from the Assassins Creed: Revelations trailer:

And last, but not least: Red Dead Redemption (Jose Gonzalez - Far Away)
