I was watching a friend play it, and it's singleplayer is pretty standard, but it's multiplayer is brilliant. There's a mode called Fragile Alliance, and it basically works like this.
You and your teammates work together to get the job done, and after that, all bets are off.
Lets say you're tasked with robbing a bank, you and your team get in, and get out. As you're making your way to the escape, you see your friend ahead of you. You think to yourself "you know, if he suddenly stopped existing, the cash would only be split three ways". So you pull up the gun, and decide that your friend isn't going to make it to the getaway car.
Unfortunately, now your team knows that you're willing to betray someone for money, and you just became Target Number one. Also, the guy you just killed respawned as a cop, so now he's going for you specifically.
It's an excellent way to add tension to team-based strategy, and I might actually get it sometime soon.
