Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: Winter Wonderland by Guido Bungenstock

Hi,

It’s Christmas time, I’ve been working on this beautiful Guido's lesson again.

It’s not perfect but I feel it better than the previous version.

I wanted to post it yesterday but with Christmas preparations I didn’t have time

Hi MisterM!

This new take shows improvements regarding the previous one. The solo section is precise and polished now, and the chords seem to be completely tight this time.

I still think that your chords are a bit low in the mix so it's difficult to listen to your guitar, but it seems to be perfect.

This has been a very intense year for you. You've done a killer job at GMC working and mastering lots of lessons mates. Congratulations on your amazing work here.

Merry Christmas and happy new year! smile.gif

Hey there!

Your take is a really nice piece of playing. Regardles of some thoughtso n what to tweak, this is going really well and could already be published on some kind of chirstmas album smile.gif

First observations is a little subjective. Chords could cut a little better thourgh the mix but from the other side - the glue well with other instruments so some could say it's good the way it is.

The only minor thing is the sharp edge of your tone -a little too harsh. If you decide to play thins using fingerpicking and pick in the same take, you need very carefully assign the dynamics of your picking. You can make your guitar sound like with a tone roll off even if the tone is on max. That's all in your hand abilities. You need to keep working on that feel. At some sopt you uncover yourself to be more blues playing trying to play jazz, than a genuine jazz player smile.gif
