GMC Forum _ GEAR & PRODUCTION _ Nyxl Strings?

Posted by: Caelumamittendum Jan 2 2018, 10:24 PM

So I've got a new (used) guitar coming any day now, and I've ordered a set of new strings too. A set of NYXL strings. I've heard good things about them, but have anyone here got any experience with them? smile.gif

I really digged them on my MK Patriot Standard with passive pickups, nice and crisp (GHS Boomers were my choice beforehand) - but wasn't a fan on my Patriot with EMGs.

That being said I still use Elixirs predominately, just because they hold up better to the acid cespools that are my fingers.

EDIT:

I really want to try out a "Balanced" set - as each string supposedly has the same tension (or at least feels that way) which helps with bending and what not.

Thanks, Chris!

They were quite expensive compared to a normal set of strings, 2-3 times as much, so I'm at least expecting some sort of difference, but we will see.
