Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: Mixing the Mixolydian by Ivan Zecic

Hi! thils lesson turned out to be really difficult, because vibrato, particularly part after 0:27 made me review my vibrato technique and connect my wrist, but, for my opinion didn't work out well.

I recorded a video to give you more detailed feedback on hand posture for bending/vibrato:

Overall I think you have been serious about this level 4 lesson and I will give you 7 grade. Keep up the good work!

Hi again mate!

This lesson seems to be based on scales but it is a very cool bending and vibrato workout!

The good news are that your take doesn't sound bad at all. There are not pitch issues and your hands seem to have enough strengh to master both techniques. You only need more time of practice to make your vibrato more regular and connected with the backing track's groove. At this point it's a bit irregular, and in many cases it starts to soon, while it's recommended to let the note sound and then gradually add vibrato.

I also consider very important the tips that Kris gives in his video regarding hand posture, this will really make a big impact in your vibrato and bending techniques. Go for it!

Hey there again!

It's great that you can self-diagnose yourself and spot issues before somebody else will. Yes - vibration....or rather general bend/vibrato control should become your main task for upcoming months. There's a lot of inconsistency in the pitch (that's they main parameter to be fixed in your case). You tend to put the note out of pitch and start the vibration over detuned note. Sometimes you go to a "point 0" pitch but you push the string way to hard at some moves, that some of these exceed the "right pitch point". It is a thing that can be learned not only by ear training but by a muscle memory as well. I think now you know the problem and you already started working to fix it. We'll see with your upcoming takes how this will evolve smile.gif
