I can run Oblivion, for example, on max (with 2gb of ram) Or you can get this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814102071 With an extra 256mb of memory, which is about what I payed for the other one. I've got a GeForce 6600, it won't run anything like R6: Vegas well but it can take HL2 on High easily. It's also fairly cheap, especially at TigerDirect.com

Hi Uncreator,
all the above are great if you have a PCI express. My general pc mobo doesn't - it only has pci. Best (in the sense of it supports highish quality 3D - good enough for games like Oblivion) pci card I've found is an ATI Radeon X1650. If you have a newish mobo though you've probably got a pci-e slot but might be worth checking before you lay out cash. The more powerful X1950XT might just have come down enough to be in The Uncreators budget too. I think this range of cards is available for both PCI-E and AGP motherboards, but you'll probably pay more for AGP these days. -------------------- QUOTE If you think you can, you can. I have Sapphire X1950XT and it kicks ass!! It was 300$ 8 months ago so i guess it is MUCH cheaper now!!

Same here Matt,
tbh I'd prefer a silent video card that runs cool to a mega pixel number cruncher that was noisy and needed extra cooling. Yeah! But i also have a friend who just bought a card which is AGP (no money for new system) and it's like a good graphic card but still sucks!
The data bandwidth is just too big to compare them.
