His tone and playing is amazing, but I cant stand his music and I dont hear much variation in what he plays.

Robin, I love his tone too, thats my favorite thing about his playing !!

i heard that his personality is really bad.. is it true ?
well, doesnt matter.. all of those stuff doesnt effect his playing..
Posted by: mattacuk Nov 13 2007, 06:24 AM
He is on the CD that came with my Guitar One magazine and when i put it in, and he started playing... the tone is just so peircing and awsome!!
Edit: I found the clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MLHpe1_jQC4

there was a clip on youtube of him being arrested...
the video no longer exists....check the error message that you get...

Theres so much "copyrighted" material of him on youtube, but hes only interested in removing the clips that make him look bad.
good player though

That is acutally pretty funny!
I expect he doesent mind copyrighted material on youtube, as long as it makes him look good!!
(and it does)

baroque can get quite anoying sometimes
but he is indeed an enegetic man with a few too many pies (in G3 2004?) lol anyway he is fun and i bet he will be doin backflips whilst playn guitar if he could
Posted by: Pavel Nov 13 2007, 07:38 AM
He might be an awesome guitar player but his orchestra work is pretty "beginner", i bet he is thinking of an orchestra with the "guitar player" approach, it's not the same to write the orchestra arrangement and a band arrangement so he lacks that in that concert.
But yeah he has a pretty damn good sound - Marshall is still a Marshall and years of experience, especially playing live. Jsut imagine how many concerts has he played in his career.....jeeeeeeeeeez.
Posted by: steve25 Nov 13 2007, 07:43 AM
Yeah i love the sound he gets and everything but sometimes i think he goes a bit OTT or indulges a bit on what he can do. Unfortunately i'm yet to find a song of his that i like
Posted by: Animosity Nov 13 2007, 08:59 AM
He's alright... All of his stuff sounds the same to me. His ego makes him lose respect for with me as well.
Posted by: Unleash-The-Shred Nov 13 2007, 09:08 AM
Yngwie in my opinion is one of the greatest guitarists ever! This should be everyone elses opinion also!

But easy to imagine

I tryed to look online to see if i could find some articles of him trash talking people but i couldnt.Really just people trash talking him .Im sure though he has said alot of things about others. One thing i can say 100% is that he is not the best or the fastest He is one hell of a guitarist though and is a shred king

Pitiful
No one loves Yngwie more than Yngwie though
! I saw him 6 or 7 years ago at local club and I can say that he doesn't get his women that beats on from the shows....nothing but dudes at the show
. Great guitar player and literally takes center stage. The lead singer was off to the side of the stage and Yngwie's beer drinking bloated self was right in the middle swinging his guitar around his neck and ripping it up.

Damn, I have said alot of crap about Malmsteen, but now...
Like four years ago I bought his album Fire and Ice, I barely listened to it, but just now I decided to check it out again, and it rocks!!! I've only heard the three first songs, so far and I'm positively surprised! Anyone else have this album?

Fire and ice... I don't remember whether I have it or not. I have a lot of records stored and packed away at my partents.
But yea I agree, he rocks.

Same here actually, most of the stuff I've seen on youtube of him I find really boring, but I must say that this CD I just started listening to was surprising. Though its not super good in my ears, but its definitely something. His guitar playing on that album is atleast very fantastic.

Yngwie is Great! I was a fan of him when I was 15. I've learn lots of his songs but years later I get a bit bored of him and the millions of Yngwie copies around the world.
So I can say that I never listen to him nowadays but he has an influenced me and he is so good playing the electric guitar.

I love yngwie malmsteen style of playing , even though there isn't much variation in his playing but he was the pioneer for neoclassical music after all
Energetic and a fast player i have to say but i hate to say it but i only can take so much of his music at a time! ..

No doubt he's a great player and has some great tone. Everything of his sounds the same though. Lots of shred, not much else.
I tried out some of his stuff a while back and got bored quickly. Is there a certain album of his I should check out to help change my mind?

There's a really funny clip in one of the PANTERA dvds where a couple of PANTERA's roadies sneak up on Yngwie while he's trying to put the moves on a couple of chicks in front of a hotel and they try to offer him donuts!! He gets really pissed and yells "NO I DON"T WANT NO F@#$ING DONUTS!" It's priceless!!
Posted by: Mackietao Nov 26 2007, 04:37 AM
Here´s a vid of the donut clip. Yngwie´s mouth is horrible. He should have a personal beeper guy who goes around with some kind of whistle and blows it every other second Yngwie swears..
http://poetv.com/video.php?vid=1398
not really that funny put out of context perhaps. Pretty bad quality too. Funny to see Yngwie pick up some girls though. They looked really amused.. lol
