Hi, i bought this guitar new for 600€ in a local store. TOKAI AST90 made in Japan .
I was looking for a strat style guitar and i test a lot of expensive and not expensive guitars, but the don't say nothing special for me.
When a play this i know it was for me smile.gif.
I feel very confortable with the neck and the setups was ok.
The pickups sound very, very vintage... too much treble but i like this kind of bite, and the dinamycs are totally extreme!!
I post two videos here one is a own song and the other a cover of one of my most liked guitarists.
Hope you enjoy!!

She's very purtty! biggrin.gif

The vintage single coils can be VERY bright! I have a Fender Vintage Series Strat and I almost changed them out - but they grew on me over time cool.gif

Congrats mate!! I have an early 80's Tokai ST50, aka the 'Springysound'!! Great sounding Strat-a-like and also quite trebly!

Here you go:-

Giving it a service a while ago and you can see the fade in the finish!

This is the Headstock, you can tell its an earlier version because of the similarity to the Fender Logo and the fact that it mentions the 'Strat'! It's just before the 'Lawsuit Era' ones.

After the Lawsuit they changed the Logo to this:-

Lovely, is it Lake Placid Blue? Or as close as Tokai can legally produce?
