Maybe some of you noticed that S.O.S. thread of mine, where I asked for help in songwriting in french singing contest.

I believe, that in the end, I had very good rock song - my school choose me as a champion for our school (in terms of representation) and everything seemed to be on a good way..

First problem was, when I entered to club, that contest was in. It was TOTALLY full of girls - i was the only boy in there. I was also the only one in there with my own composition (and also only one playing on instrument and singing at once) and the worst thing - everyone was singing either chansons or opera. I was like thorn in roses...

Firstly I took it as an advantage.. but as soon as I hit the stage ( i have black guitar with pentagram inlays) the juries (mostly teachers of classical singing or piano players) were looking at me as on an alien...

But now to the funny part - the cabels were badly isolated, so each time, my lips touched microphone, I got electric shock to my upper lip. Two times it made me completely lose rythm and I had to start that section over again. Nobody else was playing guitar (werent touching those steel strings = they didnt close the electrical circuit ) so I looked as total jerk, just trying to make excuse, for being bad player :-/

sorry for saying all this, but I am sooo disappointed :-/ :-/

(Btw. that guy on photo is just piano player, playing accompaniment wink.gif )

I had that too on stage man, believe me it isnt funny at all, I had to play in that conditions for about a whole section, that makes at least 12 songs. After the incident I noticed I had burns on my lips and on my arms. It really wasnt worth it. Just results of inexperience I believe. Now if ever I face same conditions, I refuse to go on to stage and let the management struggle to solve the problem.

So as you can see everybody can have bad days, and if you wish to call it that way, faillures too. So just try to learn from them, dont let you bad experiences lower your morale for your future endevours biggrin.gif

Cheers buddy!

I think it's a good experience mate. Now you know that in order to give a presentation on some contest you have to know what kind of jury and participants you're going to face, that's a valuable lesson smile.gif

This wasnt possible to know beforehand - I was partially forced in by my french teacher, cos nobody wanted to go from our grade (we are the last year of study and we have school leaving exams in one month, so we are swimming in work, we have to do:D

Btw. I will add a two fotos (my mom is sooooo clumsy with electronics... she didnt manage to get more photos biggrin.gif)

Btw2: Mickem - what does it mean "so totally displaced"?"D

like you said, you were the only guy, everyone else were singing opera, you came there with pentagram inlays to impress the strict jury. Misplaced maybe is the right word. The only spoon in the knife collection or something wink.gif
Or like you said yourself, the only thorn among roses biggrin.gif

Well... at least you got to mingle with the ladies smile.gif

Oh thanks:) Now I see.. yes, it fits exactly:D Btw. It seems I really impressed those girls tho - I got hugest applause and all the girls were smiling on me. On the other hand - my girlfriend was there with me, so I couldnt enjoy it as she is horribly jealous biggrin.gif everytime some girl smiled at me, she looked at me furiously.. But rock still rocks tongue.gif

Why dissappointed? Man that sounds cool to me you were chosen first from your school and then when you get there your the only one playing guitar and singing some rock. To me that sounds pretty cool. I bet you didnt do all that bad. I was laughing pretty hard about the upper lip. Thats something that would happen to me smile.gif
