GMC Forum _ Recording _ What's Your Favorite (ar Very Cheap) Vsti

Posted by: purple hayes Mar 19 2008, 07:34 PM

I'm getting this whole MIDI/REAPER/VSTi thing figured out. It's so cool. cool.gif

Can you recommend some good cheap/free VSTi plug-ins for me? At this point, I'm mostly looking for drums, keys and maybe some woodwind/brass sounds.

Thanks for the help.

I don't use any free ones at the moment, but try these sites:

http://freemusicsoftware.org/

You can probably find some good ones here smile.gif

Also check out the KVR web site - v good for info and user reviews on VSTs and VSTIs and links to the manufacturers of free/share and pay-to-use ware.

As for a fav free VSTI - Green Oak's Crystal = been around for ages but it's still a great freebie imo. Two others worth a mention - Triangle II (RGC Audio) and MicroTera (VirSynth). Sadly I don't think Micro is available anymore sad.gif .

Cheers,
Tony
