Since you have buzzing strings that means the neck is bent backwards.
* press down fret 1 and 19 on your guitar (also/or at fret 14 where the truss rod ends, measure about 45 cm) * check the distance on fret 7 where you should have more air between the fret and the string compared to other frets. This is because it's mid rod range and the neck should have a slight bend forward/up The conclusions you should draw from this. - If the distance is the greatest on fret 7 you're ok - Too little gap or zero gap and your neck is too much backwards (turn counter clockwise) - Too much gap your neck is a banana on it's back (turn clockwise) The idea is to figure out if the guitar is slightly bent forward as it should be (or straight if that's prefeered by the guitarist) or too much forward or backwards. As mentioned, backwards gives buzz. If you have a buzz all along the fretboard that's ok from the necks' point of view. But single frets is not. To position a neck which is bent too much forward/up = turn the rod adjuster clockwise to increase the tension To position a neck which is bent too much backwards/down = turn counter clockwise to decrease the tension. It's a balance between the truss rod and the string tension to get the neck in position. Keep the strings loose and only turn a quarter of a turn at a time. Be careful, and very afraid Tune up and check after each half turn. And I like to keep my notes on how much I've turned on the back of the truss rod cover. That way it won't get lost. E.g. 1 CW means 1 full turn clock wise, 1/4 CC means a quarter of a turn counter clock wise. 10CC is a band Think an extra time before you turn. You're aware that the strings force the neck to bend in one direction, the truss rod is a counter force when you add tension to it (clockwise) Strings bend banana, clockwise in anadha. -------------------- My bands homepage

Allen key is hexagonal key that turns the truss rod in the neck. But be careful and do it in small increments only.
