Usual combination is X minor pentatonic/X dorian/X minor blues/X major third. For example, let's say you have X=A. There's a plenty combinations there to make it sound whatever you want. This post has been edited by Ivan Milenkovic: Sep 17 2008, 09:25 AM

You can also expand your Blues vocabulary using pentatonic only.
What you should do is to try all licks you know already in each of 5 boxes of pentatonic scale,apply bends as well and you'll have tons of similar, but still new licks. -------------------- Youtube
