Thanks!
I couldn't help myself... just had to make a quick mix of this song. Nothing wrong with your mix though, but I'd personally like to hear some more instruments in the chorus to back up the excellent harmonies/melody Loner_Marcus_mix.mp3 ( 7.92MB ) Number of downloads: 258 |

I'm getting confused now over which one to go for |

Tony has made some good recording topics here. For what we are discussing now (the mastering) the most important tools are a multiband compressor and a limiter (limiters used for mastering are often call "maximizers" ). Other things you can use on the whole mix are parametric equalizers, enhancers and stereo widening tools. But yes we (especially me!) need more easy-to-follow recording tutorials! How clever am I not to look in the whole 'RECORDING FORUM' first!!! Hey Sensible, check out this SI lesson by Jordan. Will get you started for sure.. https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_fo...mp;hl=Recording Sorry guys, carry on admiring Kris' awesome work.. Thanks for that link too Skennie!!! -------------------- I'd rather have a full Bottle in front of me than a full Frontal Lobotomy!!

The last version sounds great to me. Nice subtle difference in lows has made a world difference, and I can hear everything very nicely now. The vocals are now killer in choruses, sounds really great.

Ok I have digested all the feedback of this thread - and I have done yet a mix which I think might be my favorite one so far.
I have added some more synth dubs to the guitars (organs, strings and some other, weirder stuff). I mixed the mutliband compressor very low this time - so it's just a very light midrange colloration - instead I did some serious "maximising" of the whole mix. I think this one is much heavier but still has some good midrange in it. >>Final Mix?! |

I just listened to this Kris, and although I couldn't turn up the volume due to some circumstances, it sounds really good I'll have another listen (a looud one ) tomorrow, and tell you what I think But it seems you're getting the hang of it now, sounds better than your first mix anyway |
