Good Usb Dac For Recording/playing Through Computer Speakers? |

POD Studio GX or UX1 (cheapest option if you go for GX) I have the UX2 interface and have used it for years and loving it. I have also recorded a bunch of songs on it. Only difference between these interfaces are the features and number of inputs and connections. Love the fact that it comes with built in software modeling software so you can just plug in your guitar straight to it and get some decent tones for practice/home demos. Drivers seem to be good and available for all the platforms. 2. Presonus Audiobox 3. Focusrite SCARLETT 2i4 Presonus and Focusrite in the same price range are very similar in features. You can't go wrong if you choose any of these. If I was in the market, I would probably go for Focusrite one and use the boss effects unit for amp simulation/modeling. It looks so cool and it should have good quality hardware/features for the price. If I would only need the audio interface for home practice and recording of demos and similar "quick work" - I would maybe consider (hated by some) Line6 UX1 just for the nice modeling software it comes with which can be useful. -------------------- For GMC support please email support (at) guitarmasterclass.net

Well I was thinking from the guitar directly into the interface. So Guitar -> ME70 -> Interface.
I forgot to mention I have an audio technica 2020 mic as seen here http://www.long-mcquade.com/products/486/P..._Microphone.htm I would just assume that going directly into the computer would produce a better sound, but I don't know. Should I just mic my amp and forget about purchasing something like a pod? |

To be honest, I"d say SKIP THE ME70
 Just get an interface (GREAT SUGESTIONS BOGDAN!) and experiment with SOFTWARE PLUGINS like OVERLOUD TH2, GUITAR RIG, SCUFFHAM S-GEAR etc. You can emulate thousands of dollars worth of killer gear with just a plugin or two and you can change the settings after you record.If you record with the ME70, the effects are BAKED IN To the recording. If you record with plugins you can change anything about the settings at any time. It's how I record and how many home recordists work. "Baking in " the effects just limits you during your mix. HOWEVER!...... DISCLAIMER!!!!!!! If you want to set it and forget it, and record your effects in to your mix, THAT"S FINE Some people LOVE TO BAKE IN THEIR FX so go for it if you want and I"m not saying it's something you shouldn't do at all Ive had WADS of students say "I get confused by all those plugins, I don't understand what they do and I like to make my tone on my pedal and be done with it so that it's much easier". And that's just fine too. IF plugins are too difficult, to overwhelming, whatever, just skip them. WHEW!! So there you have it.
