After reading this story you can't help but think that it was meant to happen.. not just a coincidence.

What do you think ? Do you think all things happen for a reason ?

That's a great story!
I think some, maybe many things that may seem really bad at first reveal something later on, thus showing you something you would not have seen / experienced if these things hadn't occured. I often say the breakup with my ex made me experience so many things I possibly would not have experienced...both good and bad stuff. It made me grow as a person and hopefully, when I look back at my life in the distant future I can say about certain things what they were good for.
However, I do not believe that some things are "meant to happen"...but I am by no means a spiritual person, so that's the reason why biggrin.gif

Pretty cool. Good coincidences seem to occur a lot in life, most actually go unnoticed - some call them life saving miracles.

As for if it's just coincidence or thinks are meant to happen in this world... it depends on your own outlook at life.

“There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.”
― Albert Einstein

Earthquakes and volcanos create chao and destruction right? This is the point of view from most people - therefore they must be bad and random.

However, dig deeper to the cause and effect. Elements and the soil get used up and wear down. Earthquakes and volcanos shift the earths plates, moving these, uplifting new resources, minerials and soil, creating a continuous renewable living environment. So without even these so-called 'Acts of God' we couldn't survive, everything would be worn away underwater and we would all be dead.

Earthquakes can be catastrophically destructive and many a year are deadly. However, the Earth releases about 1 million a year, almost all are never even registered. All are shaping the world as we know it.

Earth is the only planet in the Solar System with plate tectonics. The outer crust of the Earth is broken up into regions known as tectonic plates. These are floating on top of the magma interior of the Earth and can move against one another. When two plates collide, one plate can go underneath another.

This process is very important. When microscopic plants in the ocean die, they fall to the bottom of the ocean. Over long periods of time, the remnants of this life, rich in carbon, are carried back into the interior of the Earth and recycled. This pulls carbon out of the atmosphere, which makes sure we don’t get a runaway greenhouse effect, like what happened on Venus.

Without the plate tectonics, there’d be no way to recycle this carbon, and the Earth would overheat.

Earth is just the right amount of distance away from the sun for survival.

The Earth is like a great big magnet, with poles at the top and bottom of the planet, near to the actual geographic poles. This magnetic field extends from the surface of the Earth out thousands of kilometers – a region called the magnetosphere.

Be grateful for the magnetosphere. Without it particles from the Sun’s solar wind would hit the Earth directly, exposing the surface of the planet to significant amounts of radiation. Instead, the magnetosphere channels the solar wind around the Earth, protecting us from harm.

Water evaporates, forms clouds, rains, and cycles around continuously being reusable. Water freezes from the top down even though it's colder on the bottom, this allows fish to survive.

The entire universe is based of rules, perfect coincidences, and cycle through them to allow continuous survival.

You asked...so here's my answer. smile.gif

I believe all things happen for a reason. God is involved in this world and is aware of all. Sometimes he uses tough or weird circumstances to show us something else. Sometimes trials of this life could be His mercy in disguise. Basically, I don't really believe in real coincidences. I rest my case. wink.gif

This is much a question of do you believe in destiny, a predetermined path or fate. Since these views are highly tied to religious and spiritual beliefs, lets be sure to keep all discussion civil.

A coincidence is just happenstance, I personally think most things are random and follow no specific order or system. At least in the human world. We are, for the most part, beyond the influence of nature - we don't have survival of the fittest, or natural selection amongst our species they way other species do, our instincts are more tame. We're sentient, and in that gift I believe the only person who can possibly control the direct path you take is yourself.

I think Odin caused this to happen. He put the tumor in the kids leg, then decided to wait a while before he had that kid savagely tackled by another player in order for that kid to go to the hospital and find that tumor that Odin put in his leg. Odin did this because he wanted the kid to experience how great and merciful he is. Of course, he could've done this by not giving the kid a tumor in the first place, but it is not our place to question Odin's will, for Odin works in mysterious ways.
