Do you know of any albums which have a bit extreme mixes?
This album seems to have noticeable panning of instruments in the mix: Also this album by RHCP seems to have guitars hard panned and feels a bit "different" : -------------------- For GMC support please email support (at) guitarmasterclass.net

GnR panned their guitars hard left and right back in the day. Slash on the right and Izzy/Gilby on the left.

This is a very interesting topic. I was very surprised the first time I heard this album and noticed how it was panned. Pappo is Argentinean blues guitar hero. Check this album from 1973:

Do you know of any albums which have a bit extreme mixes? This album seems to have noticeable panning of instruments in the mix: The stereo release of Rubber Soul was done after the fact. The band wasn't even there and it was done really quickly only because (in '65) there were some folks that had 'STEREO' receivers and amps. The band, EMI and even George Martin didn't think that stereo was that important yet (even up through Sgt. Pepper) as most people only had monophonic systems and radios were still only mono. The version you want to hear is the original 1965 MONO mix. -------------------- - Ken Lasaine

If you want to know more about how most Beatles recordings were made than Mark Lewisohn's 'The complete Beatles recording sessions' is a great read. Actually it's a great read if you're interested at all in analogue recording. A little OT - if you listen to a lot of recordings first in stereo and then in mono you may hear some things dissappear in some of them . Always mono check a mix. -------------------- Get your music professionally mastered by anl AES registered Mastering Engineer. As mentioned, most stuff before 1970 was hard panned. I love it. The early Funkadelic albums did some wild stuff with panning and their production.
TW Walsh put out an album that is rad. Drums on one side, bass on the other. TW Walsh -Songs of Pain and Leisure -------------------- Rock and Roll Lover. Vintage Ampeg collector. Soon to be new father.
