Hey I'm thinking about treating myself to a delay pedal for the holidays. Anyone have any info on what you think would be the best choice?

I used to own it and it's one of the best there is There's a few delay pedals that are better, but they'll cost you loooooots more.. |

Vintage EHX Memory man pedals are known to have the warmest and best sounding analog delay of ALL delay pedals.

I use the Digitech Digidelay. I think this pedal is big bang for the bucks.

I've got Ibanez DE7 which never let me down. Great sound and both a delay and echo function, steel casing and ingenious button to open up to cwitch batteries, easiest I've ever came across. And it doesn't cost a fortune.

Eventide Timefactor is also an awesome delaypedal I'm going to agree with audiopaal and Ivan on this one. If you really want to spend some money, but want a pedal that not only sounds amazing and offers a ton of features then go with the Eventide Timefactor. It really all depends on the the kind of delay you want though. But for me I use a 70's Electro Harmonix Memory Man for my analog delay and then the Eventide for everything else. Seriously, it's that rad. You get 2 delay pedals in 1...so you can run them simultaneously with different delay times. You can run it in stereo, you have 9 types of delay, and 10 banks that hold 2 presets, and it has a USB port so that you can download upgrades to it. Check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5JOLnTT0mh0 and the second video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YNdexakUGOo...feature=channel Eventide is known for making great effects and this is part of the series for the first pedals they've ever made. Watch the section on the "Band Delay" (which is shown in the second video), if the sound of that doesn't sell it then I don't know what will. But I completely agree with Ivan, the memory man is the warmest analog delay i've ever used. I honestly would be lost with out my Memory Man or Timefactor. Only downside to the Memory Man is the fact that it doesn't have a tap tempo for getting precisely timed delays in a live setting, which has never bothered me, but some people don't like that. I've read that they added a tap tempo to the newer models, but I've never played one so i couldn't say if the sound quality is the same. But like Eventide, Electro Harmonix makes some great stuff and is a little more reasonably priced. This post has been edited by brandon: Jun 30 2010, 08:45 PM |
