Hello guys! I'm starting this thread to invite everybody to post those licks, riffs or unfinished ideas that you would like to share with our community so maybe anybody can continue it. You can post a short riff, or a complete chorus, anything you have there in your computer and would like to hear it finished.
I will add every idea posted to this first thread with the name of the user that composed. it.
Then, anybody can take one of the ideas and continue it. You can continue it just with another short section or finished a full song based on it. You can post your progress here and I will actualize the first post of this thread.
This is something completely new so you are invited to give suggestions, more ideas and also as everything you need to know to understand this clearly.
If everything goes as I plan it we will be finding really cool collab songs here.
Here I'm posting my first two ideas for this thread:

great idea!!
is it ok to post some progression and ask others to give solo ideas that I can then use in my solo? there are some where my mind gets blank everytime I try to think of a suitable solo...
btw.. the second riff is awesome...what exactly is going on there?

yes!! We can definitely go for it! Post it here!
That riff is inspired in moder punk hardcore bands like Story of the year, Silverstein and Lost Prophets. If you hear the riff, you will notice that the progression behind it is Bm - G - D - A.
I transcribed it to Guitar Pro:

Yes, unless you post a collab backing track.

Oh man, In a few months (yes, I'm that busy atm) I will look up this thread, record and post my unfinished ideas
Great initiative Gabe. And I really like the first riff, although I'd do some changes to it if it was mine.
Hmm, I might steal it actually

Feel free mate! Maybe we can make two compositions from 1 idea...

Here goes...

This is intro & chorus idea. I played first Gabe's riffs 2 times and after that added bass line while guitar plays open chord and in the end octaves.
Around 0:34 is the chorus.

hahaha this is so amazing mate! I love how this one evolved! The drum rhythm over my riff sounds fantastic and the chorus is epic!! We need a singer here! Exciting stuff!!

Hey Ville!
As I already pointed out, I like your tone and the overall composition plus the melodic arpeggios at the end! Very nice man! Tell me, any thoughts about an album?
This is the second tune I know, in the same manner, as the one where I have been a guest
Thanks Cos !
I don't know - I just do this for fun. Maybe if I bump into a singer.
Posted by: Gabriel Leopardi Mar 17 2013, 10:15 PM
Cosmin is right! You created a masterpiece starting from a simple riff that I provided! I love how this song evolved and I can't wait to hear this one with vocals!! Maybe Cosmin would like to be a guest on this one?
