When using Bridge Pickup it happens only on a single string:
Strange note bleeding on High E String Bridge Pickup.

Check this Video below:

It happens if I play the open string and then other notes, they are bleeding on a single string.

It may be related to the fact that I am using a An Audio Interface and Computer and not an actual Guitar Amp.
But I am not sure.

I am pretty sure it should work regardless of what I am using.

sound like harmonics of the same tone in the thicker string you are not muting, just because you don't hit a string to make it vibrate on accident or not, we still have to learn how to mute everything.

as an example, hit a b note on your high e string, not touching any other strings and then mute it with out touching other string only e string once you mute it. That b note will actually vibrate the b natural harmonic on your second string and cause it to ring

To further add, my palm mutes (on my picking hand) all the strings. This creates a slight waka-waka sound, underneath things, but we know once it gets in a mix it will not be heard

But that should also happen on the neck pickup, unless when he uses the PU switch and not returning to the same right hand position(?)

Yes, I am playing exactly the same the only difference is in switching the pickup.

This happens only with the bridge pickup on High E string. When playing other strings it is ok.

To be honest I couldn't be sure of the reason but I'd focus on the bridge PU first. Try height-change maybe for self test but its better a luthier check it.

I'm gonna argue this one, there is a single coil at the neck, neck pickups are already weaker than bridge pick ups and can barely even squeal , you make that a stock Ibenez single coil and it can not pick it up,

By the look of his hand, it is not touching his larger strings, and they will vibrate. At 23 seconds in, he puts his hand across all the strings and it disappears

Its possible, then if the output of bridge is too hot.

Could you play the same thing again but this time really slow and controller?

I agree with JSTCRSN.
I'm 95% sure that it's the low E and probably even the low A string's harmonics ringing out. I can even hear it on the neck pickup though slightly.

Mute your low E with the palm of your hand and try it.
Or put a hair tie/scrunchy around the neck and over the strings behind your fretting hand.

I also think that this can be the reason. Maybe it appears more with that pick up because it has more gain, or more high frequencies. Try these ideas and let us know Victor!

Definitely the first thing to try next is muting all the strings with a hair band or even slide a rag underneath them so that when you strum them not fretting anything, all they just thud. Then play exactly what you've just played. This will tell us a lot.

Cheers

Could be a sympathetic vibration maybe? It's not very pronounced.

I am not sure what a sympathetic vibration is but from what I read it could be possible:
a vibration produced in one body by the vibrations of exactly the same period in a neighboring body.

I see it happens on all my guitars when using Presonus Audio USB 96, when using the same guitar on a real amp the problem is gone.

The noise is more pronounced when I play notes on the Open High E String in the bridge Pickup.

From all your suggestion I read around here I come up with this now:

If I play on the bridge pickup and I completely mute the low E String, the high E string will not produce noise, but only the Low E string needs to be completely muted, don't know why not any other string.

When playing on the neck pickup muting the Low E String is not necessary.

the vibration issue affects 1 string to another and the low E is the flopiest, most easily vibrated by movement of the guita, almost like hitting the back of your guitar will produce noise
Have you put some sort of muting device between your hand and the nut for a test
In your video at 23 second you mute all the strings and it disappears, this is the strongest reason I see for it being a muting issue as you actually demonstrate it
I use a presonus with plugins and these plugins allow so much gain these days and we love our gain, but it also shows our weaknesses, so i think it might be there just not as noticeable
lastly, try to move your picking hand to where it is muting all the strings while you are only picking your high E

sympathetic vibration means when one string is ringing, it can cause another string to ring slightly smile.gif It may be just a lack of a good mute on all the strings. This is why I always stress getting a full palm mute and not letting it drift. Ideally, you should be able to mute and pick each string from high to low without getting extra string noise but it takes work.
