Hello guys!

So it's finally finished smile.gif

Goodbye - dedicated to all the souls who have attempted suicide but unfortunately did not survive to share their story sad.gif

https://soundcloud.com/stortzmusic/goodbye

Link for a free mp3 download will be available in a few days after some finishing touches for anyone interested biggrin.gif

Lyrics:

Have you ever been so trapped
Lost inside your head
With a stomach full of a pills
And a gun beside the bed

They say the "good book" has the answers
That you seek desperately
But your prayers have gone unanswered
Where can those answers be?

'Cause the days are growing longer
And the walls are closing in
The only comfort you can find
Is in a glass of Jameson

I'm afraid the time has finally come
To commit this mortal sin
Life can be cruel sometimes
Though I guess it's always been

You can't have a rainbow
Without a little rain
But there aren't enough colors
To cover up the pain

Your heart is but an empty shell
Its walls painted black
As your feet dangle over the edge
There is no turning back

So you try
Spread your wings and fly
So high you close your eyes
And tell the world goodbye

There's nothing left to try
Not a single tear left to cry
So you fly
And tell the world

Goodbye

Thank you for the kind words, everyone!

Suicide holds a place in my heart - you never have to give up, there's always someone willing to talk to you and help you.

Did you guys notice any volume related issues? I'm in the mastering stage and it is funny how everything sounds so good and then you listen on a different set of speakers or in the car and you're like wow what happened.

On my end I'm noticing the vocal delays in the outro are too loud, and the guitars a bit soft. I'd appreciate any feedback smile.gif

Special thanks to Gab as well for spending a lot of time helping me shape the song into what it is biggrin.gif

Ashley from StudioPros LCC - studio pros has a pool of musicians you can hire. Everything from vocals to instruments to choirs, mixing/mastering.

That's brilliant, very dark. I can imagine it on an album like The Wall.

Well done mate smile.gif

I liked it, although (and not a critisism, more of where my ear was leading me) I was hoping the chord sequence was going to progress from Am - Em to F - G for a little variation and to lead the song somewhere else.

Again more a personal preference of what I would have done (not that you asked laugh.gif ).

Still it's very powerful as it is and boy she has a pair of lungs on her!!!

As much as I would like her to sing for the collab I don't know her personally - she was a vocalist for hire out of a studio in Compton, CA.

Thank you! The funny thing is I am actually working on a different song with that same chord progression and when I started this one I didn't want to use the same progression so I ended up going with Am Em Am Dsus4/D

Excellent song and great vocals. Reminds me a little of Evanesence - mostly the vocal of course smile.gif AS for the collab - it would be great in fact ...the is one "but" though. I guess she's not a GMC member and make collaboartions among members and instructors smile.gif Even if we could make a "guest" exception, it would again increase the time of collab, which has been already extended. We have to remember that people like her not always will be able to record their part immediately - the do have their own schedulle smile.gif

Couldn't been said better biggrin.gif I like how Axl Rose sings but it doesn't mean there is a chance to have him in the collab while I'm sure he would be great biggrin.gif
