Beginner Solo in D, Lesson By Muris Varajic |
|
Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.
The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hi man, welcome to the REC Zone!
Ok, first things that will help you sound better is to work on your string bending and vibrato Bending - Your bending technique looks good but you need to get better at hitting the correct pitch. Have a watch of my video below for some tips on how to practise it This is also a really good lesson for bending because it focuses only on bending and nothing else: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/String-Bending/ Vibrato - Your vibrato technique looks quite good in the way your use your wrist.. but it is a little too fast for this tempo. Try to slow it down and make it more controlled. The other thing to do is try to allow the string to come back to its original pitch in between the bending motions of vibrato. Otherwise it will sound out of key because what you're doing now is pulling the string out of pitch and then adding vibrato. So imagine vibrato is a series of string bends.... in order to make the vibrato sound in key you need to allow the string to return to its original pitch. I hope that helps! Hi friend!
This lesson is great to have it as reference to monitor your progress. Besides the great comments by Ben regarding Bending and Vibrato, I would like to add that you need to work on alternate picking, legato, tapping and sweep picking. This can sound like a lot of stuff but with a well designed diary routine you'll be able to slowly get better on each of this elements and take your guitar playing to a new level. Feel free to write me a personal message if you need help to elaborate the guitar plan! Cheers! -------------------- My lessons
