I'm considering getting a real wah pedal, so far I've used crappy modelled multi effect wahs that only made me sound worse. My question is, what's the difference between different brands and models of wah pedals? I see the Crybaby comes in a variety of models, the most expensive being 3x the price of the cheapest, is the difference really worth it? Also, any other brands worth looking into?

I'd get the cheapest Dunlop Wah if I was on the hunt for one. It does what it's supposed to, it Wahs. My band buddy got one and it's a good wah, simple as that.

Under 140Euros I'd agree with MickeM -crybaby is a great wah for the price. Above 140 and you start paying for better tone, depth/versatilty of wah and that it doesn't affect your clean guitar sound (wahs tend to suck tone).

One thing with wahs over 140 - think hard about what you want -features/versatility or quality of tone. There are a lot of wahs that will claim to do everything - from distortion through to putting astronauts on Mars. Do you want/need that or do you want instead a very good but 'basic' wah done really well? Horses for courses...

Cheers,
Tony
