Well, the MSRP is $899

but at guitar Shops and online it goes for $629

although When I bought it there was only one left in the Store... So I got it for $499.

Posted by: Lurgen Jun 18 2007, 06:08 AM

I have four guitars currently... an el-cheapo SX Strat clone that I won't dignify with a picture, a Fender accoustic (only got it because I wanted to toughen up my fingers), and the two guitars I actually play: Fender Highway One, and Maton MS 2000 DLX.

The first attachment shows my overall setup, the second is a nice closeup of the Maton. Sorry for the size of the images, it messed up the page layout so I rescaled them and uploaded smaller versions. I'm particularly pleased with the quality of the Maton, the finish is awesome and it plays like a dream. At some stage I might have to get me one of these scarey looking Ibanez shred-machines, but not until my hand-speed builds up enoug to justify it.

Yep, it's messy right now. Downside of having to combine my home office and practice area but at least it's nicely isolated from the rest of the house smile.gif

Oh, and before anybody asks, that puny little SX amp is only there so my wife doesn't throw it away.

Posted by: CrashOops Jun 18 2007, 09:05 AM

I just picked up an Ibanez GRX20. low end to 99% of you I'm sure but I'm really impressed with the way it feels and plays. little bit beat up because it was a display model for who knows how long. but after getting it adjusted I think I"m in love. until I have more money to spend anyway wink.gif

Other Gear is a BOSS - DS1 and a cheapo MRW 15w amp because all I do is play in the bedroom anyway.

I've a PRS CE-24, which I got just a few months ago. I really like the tonal variety offered by the pickups - lots of interesting new options after years of playing Strats. Not that there's anything wrong with Strats biggrin.gif but a change of sound can be inspirational sometimes!

Sweet dude! I'm looking at getting the Ibanez RG350DX. Could you tell me more about the Edge III bridge? Thanks.

Posted by: M-P Jun 24 2007, 04:48 AM

Here's my guitar. It's a 2004 Ibanez SZ520QM with a Dimarzio Super Distortion in the bridge and a PAF Pro in the neck. I also recently rewired the switch so that the middle position is no longer split coil, but is full dual humbucking like the LP's.

I have an EX-400Bd, its and ESP LTD. I don't have pictures of mine but here's what it looks like

Posted by: lost-jgs Jun 25 2007, 04:34 AM

When looking for a new guitar, I was checking out the King V and was going to buy it till i sat down with it. Didnt find it too comfortable.

Stratman33 , ive got nothing bad to say about the edge III bridge. Tuned it once. Been jamming on it for a few days with plenty of tremolo use and its still holding the tune great.

Posted by: Pantalaimon Jun 25 2007, 08:34 AM

I play this:

Schecter C-1 Plus
-Duncan Designed pickups
-Ernie Ball super slinky strings

24 frets, thru-neck, mine has a couple love marks on it though, and isn't quite as shiney, and mine doesn't say diamond series on it like this one, otherwise mine looks like this.

it's my baby and I love it.

My new Peavey Grindbass

That looks awesome.
Is it good?

Heres mine:

My baby, the Jem. I just got this a month ago. The best guitar I have ever played

The first guitar I ever owned, a BC Rich Warlock. I use it now for downtuned stuff since I cant downtune the JEM.

My acoustic Ibanez artwood. I looked everywhere to find this exact one.

This is almost 30 years old I think. Its my dads classical guitar, but I use it alot.

This is a $25 bass I found in a thrift store a few months ago. I actually haven't even used it until today. heheh, u can see Buckethead and Steve Vai in the background.

My Vox 15 watt amp. I like it but I'm saving up for something a little bigger. I'm thinking a Krank Revolution stack, but they don't have them at any of the guitar stores around here and I wanted to try it out first before I commit to buying it.

A tiny Peavey bass amp.

A pile of 2 and a half cheap guitars that I have taken apart, repainted, or set fire to. I need to get more lighter fluid to finish the job. I also bought a Jem replacement neck, as I'm thinking of putting it on the body of the burnt squire.

Retail is about $499 (or it was, i think its only like $325-$350 with tax now) i got it from my friend who plays drums now, it came without a nut, and i replaced it today, and i have to wait for the "Super Strength Wood Glue" to set in (24 hours), so expect a review soon!

Posted by: Spreedmaster Dec 3 2007, 10:26 PM

These are the guitars I have at present, but its hard not to want to get more! biggrin.gif I dont have any photos right now, maybe soon.

B.C. Rich WMD SOB

I have a pair of EMGs semi installed in it at the moment with a PA-2.

B.C. Rich Ice Acrylic Mockingbird

(This pic isnt mine its someones off ebay)
I've got a pair of EMG-HZs to put in these but I havent gotten around to it yet. dry.gif

And this is the first guitar I ever got a few years ago, at the time it really put me off playing as It really sucked! But I picked it up again lately and after playing continuously for a few months I realised it was just set up rubbishly( bad strings, bridge too high, pickups not great) and it isn't all that crap.

Ibanez Concord 6 and 12 string. Fantastic guitars. Its really my dads guitars though, but I use them much more than he do nowdays.
He bought them in the 70's, I dont know when or where.

This is the guitar I use when playing with my band. Its a Westone Pantera X275, its bought in the 80's by a old bandmate of my dads, I bought it from him not long ago. They dont make these guitars anymore, I dont even think the brand exists anymore. He never used it much, its in a very good condition, and also the perfect metal guitar. Its very easy to do pinch harmonics with it.
I love the S-S-H setup, using middle and neck pickup almost makes it sound a little like a strat laugh.gif
And it never ever goes out of tune. I think the tremolo system is similar to floyd rose.

Whenever I want to play electric blues I use my Gibson Explorer Studio. As you can see in the picture I used to play with it in my band, but that was untill I bought the Westone guitar, wich is better for metal.
It used to have so called mini humbuckers, but I replaced them with Stewart MacDonald Golden Age humbuckers, they only cost 39$! Perfect for blues imo.

I also have a tremolo system called Stetsbar on it. I wanted to have a whammy bar on it without hurting my guitar physicaly. Its easy to put on and off, but it does not stay in tune that well, so I might just start using the old bridge instead. I dont really use the whammy bar when playing blues anyway.

Not very good pics I know, way too dark.

I have an Ibanez S520EX and a small Ibanez IBZ10G amp.

I love my guitar, it just feels so nice and the ZR bridge is awesome. It's the first time that I have a guitar with a locking tremolo system and I just love the ZR, I think with a traditional floyd I would've had some problems but this ones makes everything better.

About my amp, I hate it sad.gif , I don't like the tone of it but it's what I have right now. I'm looking into buying a new one so any suggestions on amps from $300 to $400 would be great. Maybe a spider III, I don't know...

Oh, I also have the guitar that comes in the Ibanez jumpstart package but I don't play it anymore.

i dont have a pic of my actual guitar but mine is a epiphone sg special. i kinda hate this guitar, but i set it up and its a little better but the neck is to thick for me. sad.gif

My main axe is a SG Classic with the P90s. Cherry finish.

My 2 other guitars are Fender Squire Strat (Japan), and a Ibanez 470 DX (Korea). The Gibson is USA.

I also purchased a Spider 3 15W & Korg metronome.

Here is a link for the SG.

Dude i love your Pile of Skulls jACKSON biggrin.gif .They made afew different paint jobs on that guitar, which were all very similar but now they have stopped so i would hold onto that guitar.I had to sell mine about 8 months ago but man i loved it.It has such a fast neck and the body is just flawless.Thats my dream guitar to have again one day wink.gif

Hey i had the same type of guitar except it was the les paul body. This is a great example of a guitar that can be turned into something really sweet with just alittle money. The tuner's on these guitars are horrible, bottom of the line while the humbucker's on mine actually sounded good for the metal i play.Just putting some money back and replacing parts one by one ,like the tuner's ,humbucker's and the tune o matic bridge peice would greatly improve this guitar.Cool thing is you could even go with Gold or Black hardware to give it a whole new look!If i still had mine i would definatly do this

I toyed with the idea of doing this same thing to a Schecter Omen I had, which was my first guitar. I really loved the look of the guitar, and the pickups actually sounded really good. But it was a cheap guitar, and the hardware crappy. I wanted to replace the black tuners, bridge and knobs with gold ones of good quality to make it a really sweet guitar. Ultimately I decided that it would be a wiser investment to just get a new guitar, which I did, but I still have that one and if I ever get some extra cash to throw around I'm gonna try and do that.

Here is some pictures of my Ibanez 2550e. I also have an American Fender strat, Ibanez RG370, a Martin D-1 Acoustic guitar, 2 violins, and a Ukulele.

My first ever guitar, an Aria Acoustic...my parents bought it for me for Christmas when I was 11 or 12. It was twice as big as me at the time!

...in this picture you can see my other expensive hobby; yes, I'm a Star Wars Geek tongue.gif

My first electric, got it when I was 13. I don't know very much about this guitar, it was made by a company called Vantek, I don't even know if they still make guitars. I'm currently in the process of re-building it, you'll notice I've already taken the bridge out.

My Ibanez GSA 60; This is my workhorse, my main practice guitar

My newest addition; my precious...an ESP MH400

The guitars I use in my lessons are:

Thomas Humphrey from New York made in 1993
This is made of spruce, which is a kind of yellow color, and has crisp and balanced sound.

Jose Ramirez III from Madrid made in 1985
This reddish color one is made of ceder, and has sweet sound.

Schecter "Limited Edition" Gryphon - Ruby.

I don't much care for that guitar.

Ibanez RG550 20th Anniversary Reissue - Black

This is a pretty sweet guitar, I love the Edge bridge.

Ibanez S470 - quilted maple top- see-thru red

I swapped the pickups for DiMarzio Evolutions. Pretty powerful guitar now, the fingerboard is starting to need some work though.

ESP Ltd DV8-R - Black

This has usurped the throne. King V's are awesome. Duncan Live Wires are awesome.
