Very cool.

Last time I had my guitar at the luthier, he told me the springs were a bit noisy, so he put something, which I cannot remember, on them. Haven't checked myself yet, as I have not got a screw driver here. Haha.

I use a piece of newspaper - simple.

Looks like someone's into his Yngwie and that was nice string breakage at the end...

Nice solution.

I ended up putting self adhesive felt underneath and between the springs. This looks a lot cleaner.

Hmm, I wouldn't have thought it was an issue. Can someone post a before/after, or at least explain what this does?

Do the noisy springs affect the pickups sound or what?

It´s just what is said in the description:
The trem springs of the guitar ring so loud ( in some guitars ) that it is audible through your amplifier, which will cause overtones you realy don´t want to hear smile.gif

I hope this helped!

Springs continue to vibrate and produce sound after you mute the strings. Pickups pick these tiny amounts of vibrations and they are heard as a kind of reverberation in your amp. So it is best to dump the springs any way you can.
