Ahoy boys and girls!

This month I will have a nice challenge for ya, which we began talking about in the video chat session tonight!

Basically, here's what you have to do:

1) Find a piece of classical music that you like - it can be any famous composer - Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, as our mate Korblitz said - they have to be dead already laugh.gif

2) Find a lick or phrase which you like and play it using your guitar

3) Record yourself and post it in this thread and we will discuss and analyze the ideas in the v-chat sessions to come!

Check out this thread and the replay of tonight's session and you will find more details and ideas: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZn_VBgkPNY

We already have 3 people who accepted the challenge: Monica Gheorghevici, TimmyB and AK Rich!

Who else is in?

Cosmin

One question......can I make something by George Gershwin? Don't worry it's already dead laugh.gif laugh.gif

He was born in 1898- 1937. I want to use one of his song who was write for a very known opera.
I thought even if it's classical and composed it special for an opera can sound a little different wink.gif
For my surprise many of my friends, when I told them about this song, they had the feeling that was written not so long ago because there are many versions of this song covered by many people. But.....Wikipedia rulzzzzz biggrin.gif

If it's classical and you like it - by all means go for it! The more diverse, the nicer!

I choosed "Summertime" from the opera Porgy and Bess written by George Gershwin. But..... because I made a variant which I like very much but don't have a classical vibe even it's the song is from a classical cathegory, I will be back until at deadline, I guess with Strauss wink.gif
Sorry for little mistakes but It's just a demo biggrin.gif

One of my favorite classical pieces. Really enjoy hearing this on classical guitar… gave me chills at moments. Very well played Mert!

Hey Monica and Mert!

Great to have you guys onboard biggrin.gif I think Monica made a very interesting choice - it's jazzy classical music!! What I'd work on here would be the intonation and dynamics of the whole thing - in Monica's case - we'll discuss it in the v'chat tho biggrin.gif

Regarding Mert's take - it sounds sweet mate biggrin.gif I can see you have done this before wink.gif hehe, nothing to add here, but my congratulations!

I understand what you say about intonation and dynamics but much soft than this will not be like in original. Of course this is just my opinion smile.gif

I will wait your version to understand better but please record that version because in Vchat I can't hear the sound very good to compare biggrin.gif
I must to hear your guitar redcording with your interface not with camera or mic wink.gif
