Did you plug the 120V to 220V ? sounds like you burnt it down.

Seems like some internal issue. Unplug the device, turn it on while unplugged to empty to current, then open the device, check for connections, see if anything is burned or anything.
It could be that: - some leads are burned from heat, use contact spray and clean the connections a bit - check the internal battery, it could be dead - check the fuse - check the voltage see if you can get it up and running. If not, or if you aren't sure what you are doing, take it to experienced electrician who had some experience with similar gear. You have to use an adaptor in order to use it in France. Or buy the proper power supply
