Well a little further down the board there is a thread about the chance for a new guitar for me...
https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_fo...?showtopic=4236 And I got it, my God it's nice! As I stated in the thread, I have never used EMG's before, nor active pick-ups and I have a few questions... I practice on a Marshal AVT275 amp and use a Marshall GV2 distortion peddle, has anyone any advice on how to get the best and crispest distortion that picks up pinches and sweeps well without the fuzz from stupidly high gain? Can I safely use the distortion peddle on an overdrive channel with an active pick up? I have my practice rig perfectly set up with my Seymours but the added gain from the EMG-81's is making it difficult for me to keep it 'clean and scream'... Any other advise that comes to mind from people please post! -------------------- www.myspace.com/idkillyouformyself Guitars: Jackson RR1 Snow w/ black pin stripes -Duncan Jackson KE2 Emerald Green -Duncan Jackson Soloist SL1 Lightning sky -Duncan ESP M-II Urban Camo -EMG Amps: Practice Marshall MS4 and Marshall AVTX 275 Gig Marshall AVTX 112 412xA and 412xB Pedals: Marshall Guv'nor 2 and JH-1 |

If I had a guitar with the active EMG's I'd definitly try the 18 volt mod.
It's supposed to make ALL the difference. You connect an extra 9V battery in series. -------------------- My bands homepage
