I changed dimarzios for my guitar sometime ago...
for dimarzios you can get instrutions from their website, http://www.dimarzio.com/site/#/pickups/ search for your picups and there should be a "installation" tab where the pictures are, and also the pickups should come with instrutions. where to excatly connect the grounds, I looked from the previous pickups, for me they were at the whammybar. and ofcourse if you don't understand the instrutions I guess you can always go to a pro for installation. If you don't understand... I don't blame ya, I barely got them there myself. Hope this helps. -------------------- Anyone can learn to play fast, like anyone can learn to type quickly. If I'm not mistaken, you have one volume and one tone with a 5-way selector?
If not SD has some of the best wiring diagrams I have found. http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/wiring-diagrams/ |

I think he wants to remove the middle pickup. I would suggest to change to three way pickup selector then and follow this diagram Ramiro.

I think he wants to remove the middle pickup. I would suggest to change to three way pickup selector then and follow this diagram Ramiro. If I remember well with SD v.s Dimarzio Green translates to Red and vice verca. Some 5 way selectors Ibanez uses has the advantage of a split humbucker position and one parallell connection. So if that's something useful I'd stick with the 5 way selector is it has this possibility. I don't recall by heart the item name but it's always sitting in the H-H combo Ibanez guitars. EP112 something (try looking it up) -------------------- My bands homepage

Thank you guys!!! I think Micke M told me to mail DiMarzio to ask for the special setup diagram and they answer very very quickly. So I did it but I must done something wrong because the positions 1 and 2 of the switch doesn't sound anything, I think when I soldered I damaged the selector switch :S Any way I'm enjoying the Steve's Special that I've installed on the bridge. Tomorrow I'll take the axe to a repair shop to see what's going on. It worth the effort to learn something new. Thank you all again for all your answers. I don't think you broke the switch while soldering but you may have used a scheme that's different from the actual switch you got. Position 2 is the parallell positoin (if you have the right H-H capable Ibanez switch) and following the standard scheme for a 5 way switch will give position 2 as dead. If you made everything according to the blueprint you got from Dimarzio it should be ok. So I'm thinking the 5 pos switch you got is for H-S-H (or S-S-S) only. Then, if you solder it the Dimarzio way I can imagine when you try position 1 (series) and 2 (parallell) connect the humbuckers on a switch that's not made for it it'll come out silent. I think you may have a regular 5 way switch! The should be possible to check for the item code on the spare parts for your guitar, maybe from Ibanez homepage and we could find out that way which kind of switch it is. If it says EP1112 have a look at http://www.dimarzio.com//media/diagrams/E.pdf -------------------- My bands homepage
