GMC Forum _ GEAR & PRODUCTION _ Another New Strat Owner

Posted by: skennington Jan 24 2010, 06:02 PM

As the title says, don't know what took me so long! laugh.gif I love this thing! Traded a mint 2006 Epi Les Paul for this mint 2007 Mexi Fat Strat and quite pleased with the decision. This thing has some serious versatility.

I also have a set Stan Hinesley custom wound pickups (Zen and Kashmir) I'm thinking about dropping the Zen in the bridge.

Here's some pic's...

Enjoy it. I miss my ex-strats some days. Never did have one with a maple neck. Always thought those looked the best.

I got the exact guitar only with SSS and USA made. I think that makes us brothers in law biggrin.gif ahahahhah

Congrats on getting that strat! It looks great! Maybe you could record some sound clips before and after the pickup change smile.gif

Totally biased here as I have two of em.. but I would say you have made a wise choice.
May the force be with you and the new mrs.. smile.gif

What a cool guitar!. I gotta admit, I have a Strat myself but don't play it that often, I like my other guitar a little better (especially because the action is lower on my oakland guitar...)
But nothing beats the sound of a strat.

beautiful! congrats!

Thanks again guys. smile.gif I'm still quite happy with it but the singles are a bit noisy and certainly not computer friendly. I think it may need some more shielding so when I change out the bridge, I'm going to add another coat. Or, are these things just that hot?

Single coils are noisy, maybe tweak your noise gate setting a bit when recording (if you use a pod etc.)
