Hey again !

Most readers will now find me a gargantuan pain in the rear end, but I'm just very happy right now !

Two days ago we were leaving LA in a rented car, and I told my dad that I needed a thing to record my guitar playing for the REC programme. We stopped at the Guitar Center in Sunset Boulevard, Hollywood, and I went to the second floor where the guitar "accessories" are found. I told the guy I needed a Line 6 POD Studio GX (which is what you guys on GMC told me to get), and then he said "You mean a toneport", and silly me said "Yeah" ... Of course, I didn't know he was talking of another model...

He then said that the Line 6 POD Studio Toneport had been discontinued, and that he would have to get me a Line 6 POD UX1 or UX2, for $150 and $250 respectively... I was going to get the UX1, as it was the cheaper one, but he had to find it in the storage area first ! He descended the staircase and disappeared from sight, and came back with a Line 6 POD Studio GX ! Obviously he had misunderstood what I told him, but it all ended quite pleasantly... We bought it for $100 + tax, and I just can't wait till I get home to start recording for the REC ! We now just need a webcam (Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000), and eventually an amplifier that we'll buy back in Norway to avoid transportation issues

Thanks a lot to everyone who has suggested the gear I should buy to get serious with the recording, and a big thanks to Marc_Maiden from Fremont who also helped me a lot in my quest finding the shops !

my weekend was so crazy...did you hear about the electric daisy carnival? it was a 150,000 person crazy fest...and i was there!

Wow ! Sounds pretty wild We're in Santa Cruz at a Holiday Inn hotel... It's very luxurious ! Thanks again for your help Are you in Los Angeles ?

i was in los angeles for the weekend!

now im back in fremont which is about 30 min from santa cruz!


santa cruz has a lot of good used guitar shops where you can get rare beauties for cheap!

Now we're in San Francisco... We just stayed in Santa Cruz for the night, so didn't get the time to buy any guitars... Still, I don't think I'm going to spend much more money on guitar, except for a new amplifier in Norway and a webcam here in California or Nevada (Las Vegas) ! Thanks a lot, though !

Congratulations man on the POD Studio GX! It is a cool piece of hardware, and if you ever need some advice how to use it don't hesitate to ask. I wish you make lots of great recordings with it!

Thanks Ivan ! Thank you again for helping me choose what gear to buy, it was truly helpful when looking for equipment in the shops ! I'm going to get down serious with the REC, and I hope I'll make a couple of recording then.

I wish my parents would just give me $100 to eat for a week, then I could just sleep outside the Guitar Center !

if you need a city guide let me know!

too bad you arent going to be in san fran next weekend or else i could have gotten you free cruise tickets to cruise around the bay with an all you can eat buffet and dancing!

Your generosity is overwhelming, Marc ! We're on our way to Las Vegas tomorrow, but we're going to stop for the night somewhere in between SF and LV ! Thanks for all your tempting offers though, you really are a helpful person !
