I like a mixture...I like rhythm with splashes of lead licks in them. Hard to describe.

I like to do a lot of rhythm, especially stuff like gabriels open chords rock rhythm. I can really get into the groove of that kind of thing. But I'm also decent at blues soloing I think, though improvisation is something that still needs work.

I need lots of work in both areas, I'm not even close to being happy with any aspect of my playing.

I'd say more like Thrice than anything.

I really like to play rythm stuff from Blind Guardian...With alot of powerchords and lots of muted tremelo picking

i like the both but if you want to be a good soloist you have to understand the rythem so good thats will help you in solos

i love stuff like Gojira.. where the rythem is the lead! I am rythem for life.. heavy is my job mmhhmmm

Yeah, Gojira are really awesome.
I think Lamb of God's rythm guitar are a little more "lead" than Gojira's though.
I like playing both rythm and lead, but I know a lot more songs by lamb of god and gojira than other bands because their riffs are just so "soloish", and they usually don't have any shred soloes that I can't play. Some bands have easy riffs and extremely hard soloes, so I can't play either of them (won't play the riffs because they are too easy
and cant play the soloes because they are too hard...
Love playing lead in my own songs though, and in songs that have soloes I can manage to play
Of course I'm better at rythm than lead. I think the average lead guitarist play waay more rythm riffs than soloes (unless they are just standing there while someone else is playing the riffs in the rest of the song
)

I'd be better at lead. i can play huge solos, but suck at straight riffs and rythem stuff

I realized a long time ago that I'm a rhythm girl. I like soloing but I'm not really good at it yet....but I'm practicing
Posted by: Guitarman700 Mar 9 2008, 03:08 AM
im a rhythm guitar player, i aspire to the kind of crazy rhythm stuff Dave Mustaine and Marcus Siepen are capable of.
Posted by: Juan M. Valero Mar 9 2008, 07:43 AM
I don't know... I like more soloing but I really don't know if I'm better at the rhythm...

I'm better in solo then rhytm, i practiced all the time on my solo's, so i'm now practicing for my rhytm's too !!
Posted by: superize Mar 9 2008, 10:15 AM
I am trying to get better at the solo part right now but really feel that i am more of a rythm guy
Posted by: ZakkWylde Mar 9 2008, 10:21 AM
I try to be a lead-guy but my rythm is just way better than my soloing even though I spend most of my practicing time for soloing.
Posted by: Milenkovic Ivan Mar 9 2008, 01:27 PM
I love both equally very much!
Posted by: FretDancer69 Mar 9 2008, 05:05 PM
im better at solo, im not that good at complex rythms when it comes to chords...

I'm better at playing rythm.
I've just recently been trying to play some solo stuff, and somewhat easy solos are fine
but I think my fingers need to speed up a bit before I say I'm good at solos
Posted by: Marcus Siepen Mar 10 2008, 01:30 PM
I am definitely a rhythm guy, but from time to time I also have fun playing leads.
Posted by: Muris Mar 10 2008, 01:40 PM
Best thing is not to split one aspect of playing from another,
guitar is guitar, rhythm or lead, try to stick with both.
