Ok folks,

My Peavey Valveking is back in Germany for up to four weeks. I'm missing it so I thought I'd try one of these little beauties in the meantime. Got for a steal from a trade dealer on Ebay for £285 delivered. I wanted one of these a while back but they were around £600, they've dropped a bit now to around £450 - £500 new from a shop.

Sorry Mertay, please don't shout at me sir unsure.gif

Just got to hook it all up properly and sort out how to use it, shouldn't take too long, (famous last words laugh.gif )

I remember you badly wanted a Laney smile.gif very good deal, seems this one will like being played dirty!

Keep in mind to check the manual if you'll want to use the USB re-amping thingie like you did with your boss, it might not work together with the focusrite.

Yeah thanks Mertay,

I'm actually surprised how sweet the clean channel is through my Celestion Vintage 30 Harley Benton cab. It's at least as good as the Peavey.

Regarding the re-amping, I will have a play later on but if I want to do that I still have my Radial Twin City sending my guitar to my GT-001.

Guitar>Keeley Compressor Pro>Hot Bird>Radial Twin City> to either GT001>Focusrite or GT100>Laney>Focusrite

Then I have my SM57 to Focusrite.

Plenty of options smile.gif

Big review HERE including a re-amping demo wink.gif

Cheers buddy.

It is good, through the cab it's awesome, the emulated out isn't as good, time will tell if it's as good as the Peavey in that respect. The Peavey was/is a bit muddy when emulated.

Looking forward to learning all about it.

Current tech on analog cab. sim. outs are to be honest at their baby steps, they are definitly useful for quick+easy soluions but they don't have the compexity of a mic.ed amp or an ir.

Keep in mind for silent recording, you can use ir's from computer while recording as they use very little cpu. I sure you'd quickly get used to it after some minor advice but the hard part is there are a million cab. ir's out there and choosing one isn't easy smile.gif

Nice! I was thinking of picking one of these up but I ultimately decided to have Myaskinov build me a JCM800 preamp clone smile.gif

NICE!! I have heard nothing but good things about that unit. It racksup nicely and is very portable without breaking ones back. Also a great price on that one!! Even has the foot switch and it's a recording interface (usb I think) as well.

Score!

Yeah USD and xlr out. Just got to sort that hiss, not sure it's the amp per se, but the Peavey didn't have it with the same set up.

Cheers

Yeah - that dude can pretty much clone anything. Marshall/Soldano/Mesa Boogie/etc

Only $350 USD for the quote

Well Spiff!! smile.gif Let me know what you think of it when it shows smile.gif For a hand built tube preamp, the price is not bad at all. ROCKTRON is doing something similar now and they $1,0000 EACH!!!! No Thanks.

Here is a sound demo of the rocktron marshal"ish" tube rack unit. It's the first one played.
