Hey GMC!

I'm in a band now and we're planning some gigs in June. We're going to play some small venues, up to about 200 people max. I'm going to need a bit of a better amp I'm afraid. I now have a Vox AD50VT. My questions:

Would such a vox be loud enough to play live with a band? Say in bars and maybe a bit bigger venues?

What other cool alternatives would you give me? I have a few things I want in a possible new amp:
preferably tube
Loud enough
FX Loop! (important with delay and reverb FX)
switchable
well priced, I can't spend 600 euros, I just don't have that amount of money.

let me know!

Sean

Edit: typo...

I think your amp is probably loud enough, because when you need to be loud enough for that many people - it should be mic'd anyway
so if you are happy with the sound - just mic it

I have a VOX VT 30 and it gets plenty loud for my room. I don't even it use 1/10 of the volume it could produce! ohmy.gif

If its going to be mic'ed then it will be loud enough, hopefully you'll have your own monitor so you can hear yourself. If not, then whether or not its loud enough depends on the type of music you play, and if you play with another guitarist.

I would advise that you save your money, and start giggin with your Vox amp. That amp is powerful enough and has very decent sound, I've heard it several times on stage and always though it sounded very good. Try it on stage, and see how it behaves. You can then decide yourself.
