Hello Muris,

Ok here is another deep question from you know who!

I have to build up to the question.

This is about playing lessons on completely clean sound. I mean plug my guitar straight into my computer. Clean as it can be.

On the pent sub lesson during the triplets I naturally have to play much softer or it sounds pitiful. Not to mention, the need for accuracy. But I am talking about the force for which the pick hits the string.

When using cool effects it is ok to hit the stings with less or more force since the sound is not as effected.

Now the question…..

Would you say you do a or b?

a) you too have to tame your playing while playing clean. Still accurate I am sure but still you have to tame the picking down a bit.

Or b

cool.gif I hit the stings with about the same force, So I hit the distorted stings as lightly as I the clean strings. Since it can not go the other way
That’s why my runs sound like a Harley at about 70 MPH

Is the point, learn to play this light for everything?

I would suggest more power while playing on clean tone,
tho I'm not talking of breaking strings. smile.gif
That's great way to improve accuracy and timing,to feel every note you play.
Light playing is great but AFTER you manage all issues with timing etc,
then you just play it lightly on distortion...why?...to get more speed, simple as that. smile.gif
