Got an RG1570 over the weekend. It's aweeeesoooommee. It's my first ibanez, until now I've only played strats/custom strats.
I got it second hand from ebay for just under £300, which I think is aroudn $200 USD? Anyhow, it's awesome. Except for one tiny scuff on the paint, it's in perfect condition. I got a mirage blue one, which looks quite nice. Not the best finish in the world, but it's still pretty cool.
I was planning on making a custom job from it, by refinishing it and putting a vine inlay neck on etc. But because I saved so much buying it, I might just stick new pickups in it and call it done, then spend the rest on the next guitar which I think will be a custom jem DNA swirl. I've already got a neck on order so I'll probably use the neck for that one. But who knows, things never seem to go to plan with guitars I buy, but it always seems to work out well in the end, even if it's not what was orginanly intended.
The edge trem was a massive pain to setup, its my first locking trem, so took a while to get it just so. But it's quite good now. I was going to put 10 guage strings on, but without adding another spring it wouldn't have it. I didn't want to add another spring as I wanted to leave that stopping 'bar' that holds the springs into the back of the bridge. I tend to get a bit over zealous with the trem arm, and it's happened before that at a gig the springs have just popped out of the bridge at teh end of a song, which takes ages to sort out, so I wanted to leave that bar in place, just to be safe. So it's got 9's on, but it's setup with a ridiculously low action, and never seems to go out of tune, i love it!
