Hi,

I'd like the know under what conditions I'm allowed to use the GMC Backingtracks. Am I allowed the record me playing over the backing tracks and then release that recording to the public (GMC Forums, YouTube, my Website...)?

Thanks,
Jonas

I believe that's fine as long as you mention the backing comes from GMC in sites such as youtube, etc.

Many GMC:ers record their video takes on lessons and post them here in the forums or at youtube etc. As far as you mention it's a GMC lesson I believe it's OK. Someone correct me if I'm wrong smile.gif

It has been done before and nobody had anything against it. As long as you are using them for your practicing purposes then I think it should be no problem. If you are posting it somewhere else than GMC then you should say whose lesson (track) you are playing along and of course leave link to GMC.

Very good question !

Answer is YES you can use backing tracks and record things. Ideally you should record actual lessons that instructors recorded and post it as video response in forums and actual lesson.

Check this thread out it should be very helpful

I guess it should not be used for making money or copyrighting as your own material. If you use it for practice and make note it is from GMC it should be OK.

Thanks for the numerous responses. I'll sure mention GMC should I ever use one of the backing tracks smile.gif

What do you mean with "copyrighting as your own"? Claiming that I did create the backing track/song?

No worries, I didn't interpret it like that. I just didn't understand what you mean. But I think it's clear now. smile.gif
