" Take any opportunity to explore a new style. Learning a song or two from styles you don't listen to often will do wonders for your overall playing and musicianship. Then you can develop your own by mixing all the influences/styles you explored. "

That's true. This can be applied to both listening and playing various types of music. It helps a lot.

This is a very important tip. A true musician is one that is open minded. Take for instance Marty Friedman, he's a perfect example. Or Muris... tongue.gif
