GMC Forum _ PRACTICE ROOM _ Scale Boxes

Posted by: Pavel Jul 31 2007, 08:54 PM

Ok, so a couple of days ago i was practicing alternate picking and was playing some runs up and down the fretboard. Than i decided to do something i could use for GMC, and here is the idea:

I created an exercise which will help you work on alternate picking runs both ascending and descending for a certain major scale (major scale for start) through all the 7 boxes you can find on the fretboard. Later we'll do same for minor boxes. The great progress i noticed when playing it is total relaxation.

I must say it is great for your AP workout and i really enjoy playing it, so what do you think about it? If you need something like this - i will make it into a lesson!

Pavel, that would be great. You're AP lessons have dramatically increased my speed in a very short time. Thanks in advance!

Anxiously awaiting!

When you are done this version, could you morph it into a pentatonic style as well, or tell us how this can be applied to other scales?

Thanks Pavel.

It's tabbed, just have to make a backing track and record it! I'm pretty busy right now so i guess next week i will do it! (my parents are on a trip, so i am home alone, have to cook myself, clean the house and the best part is - my fridge has broken so i have to deal with all the service mans and sending it for repairs, buying food every day because i can't store it...pretty much of a mess sad.gif ) But i have lot's of updates for this month so stay tuned! smile.gif
