Yeah playing a gig will definitly have him motivated.Make sure you record that gig so you can maybe examine his performance and show him eventual problems.Band need to play and rehears a lot in order to sound tight as a whole.
One thing I was wondering, does he show same problems (not listening) when playing guitar and bass too ? When playing bass he needs to listen to the drummer , I don't know how he manages to ignore him -------------------- For GMC support please email support (at) guitarmasterclass.net

I will defintly jam with him more, and tell him to try and focus on what me and the drummer are doing. He better jam with the drummer instead of you. Drums and bass go together, you on your guitar listen to them. Don't interfear with the beat. -------------------- My bands homepage

Not to worry Iluha, as soon as you get your first gigs, and start rehearsing more I'm sure you will overcome that problem fast. As everybody suggested occasional jamming is great for practicing to listen to other bandmates. So the more you do your jamms, home rehearse, and studio rehearse it will be better and better.
BTW have you spoken to him about this matter yet? -------------------- - Ivan's Video Chat Lesson Notes HERE
