You have woken up. School has started. You know you want to stay home and play the guitar, but those mean people want you to go to school, don't they I like how I always start writing like this and I can't take it to the end and start laughing in the middle
Well, this morning I have discovered this great collection of epic tunes, which I wanted to share with you:
Do you feel stronger when listening to this sort of music? Which is your favorite?

great... the video can't be played in Germany due to copyright issues...
Posted by: wollace03 Sep 7 2012, 09:15 AM
interesting...it can be played in Austria...
I like to listen to epic tunes when I am in the right mood... Protectors of Earth #7 is really good.... At home I always end up playing the soundtracks of Lord of the Rings and of Braveheart...

It's a german thing, thanks to the almighty GEMA that won't grant youtube the rights to play everything...

From that video, Protectors of the Earth and Lux Aeterna are my favourites. I don't know the former but I'm a big fan of the latter. The chord progression is so simple but the melody is just so powerful. How did he do it ??
No epic list is complete without this... I could go into battle with no weapons and kill 100 men after hearing this

aw yeah thanks for these man

I think it's the poster for the original theatrical release of Conan the Barbarian

It is the original poster. It was done by an artist called Boris Vallejo. You can D/L a load of his pics http://www.wallpaperweb.org/wallpaper/fantasy/boris-vallejo.html

Along that same line I really dug the score to the 13th Warrior movie. This is a bit from the last battle sequence.

Had the opportunity to perform Carmina Burana twice with philharmonic orchestras and the feeling is unmatched! It is by far the most dramatic tune! Next step, Lux Aeterna - I will try to work it out and see what I get

:3 one thing that i like about animes, it's the epic battle music. and amazing ost's

I LOVE that film It's got Viking Metal written all over it. It's honestly one of my Fav films ever as I really like "cult movies". It did terrible at the box office and killed off the lead characters acting career, but I just think it hit the wrong audience at the wrong time.

It killed off Antonio Banderas' career ? I didn't know that. That's a shame as he's a great personality to have in a film. We all know the film Desperado of course but does anybody else know the film, Assassins ? He was great in that too, alongside Sly Stallone.

Get ready to believe It was a MONUMENTAL bomb and stained many folks so badly they left the industry. Not the least of which was the lead character who played the main viking guy. He became a carpenter.
Here are the grizzly numbers. Domestic Total Gross: $32,698,899 Distributor: Buena Vista Release Date: August 27, 1999 MPAA Rating: R Production Budget: $160 million
It was one of the most expensive movies the studio ever did, the original direct quit and the writer took over. Then it bombed.
Personally, I LOVE THIS MOVIE TO DEATH! And count it among my favorites. I could watch it on a loop.

Not Antonio The big blonde viking guy. Antonio did just fine. DESPERADO is a GREAT movie. It's the sequel to the directors first feature film that he did for no budget called EL MARIACHI.

Good question. I LOVED it. But then again, I loved Big Trouble in Little China which also lost TONS of money but became a Cult Classic

Yes, it's a great film. I love quite a bit of John Carpenter's work. He definitely had a unique way of creating suspense and horror with his relentless, droning music and dark melodies.

Speaking John Carpenter, my FAV movie by him is still BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA and I used a clip of it in this video and took the song title from a spiff scene out of it
SIX DEMON BAG (Get it?)

Thanks No real amps were harmed in the making of this video. It's all done in software (Smoke and Mirrors) which I've been getting in to more and more for home recording. I miss recording guitars really LOUD but my neighbors don't seem to miss it at all.

One time, last year, I was rehearsing Vivaldi for the Mozart Rocks gig and I had the Crate amp at home. It seems that a great part of my neighbors from the surrounding blocks near my house were on their balconies watching. I was facing my computer, meaning I had my back turned at the window. When I turned, I saw people watching and it felt pretty odd

He just knocked and was in cool about it. I was blasting it to try to record solid tone but evidently you could hear it all the way down the hall. Our hallways act like a big resonator. maybe I should put my amp in the hallway?
